TheGameCon was founded in August of 2014, bringing the first gaming and technology driven convention to the greater Houston area that was for the whole family. While founding TheGameCon founders Zackary Pedersen, a student at the University of Houston at the time, and Matt Roche, a current student at Indiana University at Pennsylvania, set out to create a family friendly oriented gaming convention that entertained kids, parents, and young adults alike. Giving our attendees the opportunity to meet top level YouTube and Twitch personalities, like JeromeASF and AviatorGaming, in a relaxed open environment that encouraged interaction like no other event. Each year since 2014 Zackary and Matt have been working on improving the convention year over year while maintaining to the same core values it was founded under. It is TheGameCon's goal to create an interactive, high energy, family friendly gaming convention for to enjoy from entry to departure. TheGameCon was founded in 2015 by Zackary Pedersen and Matt Roche after the completion of ArcadiaCon 2014, where Zackary was the executive director for the 2014 show. Wanting to keep the same core values ArcadiaCon held in Galveston, TheGameCon was formed to keep a gaming convention in the Houston Area. Zackary is a local Houstonian, being raised in League City and graduating from Clear Creek High School in the class of 2013, currently, Zackary is a student at the University of Houston Clear Lake campus, recently transferring from University of Houston Main. Matt joined the team during the first year of TheGameCon as the exhibit and partnership coordinator creating the exhibit hall that exists today, currently, Matt is a student at the University of Indiana at Pitsburg working on his MIS degree. At the very core, TheGameCon is a family, we have been through thick and thin and no matter what we keep pushing forward with our vision of making a family-friendly gaming convention for the Houston area. In 2014 Zackary was one of the founding members of ArcadiaCon, shortly after ArcadiaCon
moved away from Galveston TheGameCon was born in 2015 bringing back the core values
ArcadiaCon held while in Galveston. Zackary is a student at the University of Houston Clear
Lake, and was a previous student of University of Houston Main Campus.
Zackary is the President/ Founder of Snaju LLC, the parent company of TheGameCon, and also handles all logistics, organization, development, and management for TheGameCon.
Matt co-founded TheGameCon with Zackary in 2015 to provide a fun and interactive space for
enthusiasts to partake in rich gaming content! Since then, TheGameCon has flourished into a
event like no other. Matt acts as the Exhibitor/Partnership Director for TheGameCon and also
in the overall management of the event. Matt is a junior at Indiana University of
his BS in Management Information Systems.
Matt is also a part of the Event Operations team at Snaju LLC, the parent company of TheGameCon.
Kevin has been a supervisor with TheGameCon since 2015 and has been helping Zackary with events since 2014. Over the past years he has helped with stage management and communications at the event. Kevin is a student at Tyler Junior College pursuing a degree in Game and Simulation Development graphics and programming and is the president of his schools International Game Developers Association chapter.
Chris joined TheGameCon as Activities Manager in 2017. A new addition to the team, Chris is ready to work hard and improve TheGameCon and make the experience the best that it can be! As Activities Manager, Chris will work with the directors of TGC to create a smooth plan and improve the guest experience any way that he can. Chris is attending Indiana University of Pennsylvania pursuing a BA in Communications Media. When not working TheGameCon, Chris directs the Dota 2 division for the High School Star League, an esports tournament exclusively for high school students in North America.
Robert is an avid gamer that started as staff with TheGameCon in 2015 as a regular Defender, and then in 2016 moved up to Defender Supervisor, with 2017 he is taking on the role of Defender Coordinator. Robert is a student at Texas A&M University working on a Bachelors after completing his Associates of Arts, and Associates of Science. He brings everything he has to helping the staff and the attendees of TheGameCon in any way possible.
TheGameCon was founded in August of 2014, and started the planning for the first convention TheGameCon 2015 shortly after by Zackary Pedersen and Michael Cassic, Matt Roche joined TheGameCon team in January of 2015.
